Process makes perfect.

Success isn't an accident. It takes planning, skill, dedication and a commitment to excellence.

A successful website or app can mean hundreds (or thousands) of pieces coming together just right. Making sure everything lands in place on time, on budget and on brand requires a lot of planning and cooperation.

At Convey, we walk with you through the entire process, from discovery and project scope to delivery and support after launch. We work with you to establish solid information architecture and brand consistency. We design support systems and software to meet your needs and ensure success on launch day and long after.

How we do what we do.

Project
Scope

1

This is where we ask the big questions about the business problem you are trying to solve.
This first phase of the project is about getting it all out on the table and getting the lay of the land.
Look for lots of discussion and brainstorming during this period. This is the time for big visions and bold dreams.
At the end of this phase, we will distill all the brainstorming and big ideas into a coherent project scope. Once that scope is approved, we start talking dates and timelines. Then, the fun begins.

Requirements
And Data

2

Once your web or mobile project is scoped, it is time to get our heads around exactly what your project will accomplish, and how it will do it.
This means diving deep into your data, interviewing stakeholders, getting to know your corporate culture and more.
At this stage, we are finding out what resources we can leverage and coming up with a tangible plan of action that will take us from proposal to product.
On-the-ground realities about your databases and APIs and other systems are discovered here. These have profound ramifications for the rest of the project.

UX and
WireFraming

3

User Experience (or UX in the industry) is an often-overlooked, but crucial, step in the process. We take it seriously here at Convey.
This is about how the app functions, not about how it looks. At this stage, we are concerned with how your users will interact with your product; how they will move through your site or app.
During this phase you will see wireframes and simple mockups of your soon-to-be-beautiful product as we get the structure of your project ready for its gorgeous coat of paint.

UI Design
and Coding

4

Your project has been scoped, thought out and properly wireframed. Now it is time to make it branded and beautiful.
At this stage, simple wireframes are replaced by the slick graphics and tight branding that will make your app or website a part of your brand journey.
Behind the scenes, the data we gathered in Phase 2 is meeting the interactions and workflows we established in Phase 3. Here the foundational coding is wrapped up and we are on to …

Beta Testing
and Polishing

5

The beta! Your project isn't out in the world yet, but we are getting close. Now is the time to really see what this baby can do.
Beta testing is for a select group inside your company, or a few lucky customers. This is the phase where wrinkles are ironed out, usability tweaks identified and user feedback is taken into consideration. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, this phase can last a few weeks or even months.
This is also the point in the project when we add the final touches to the UI and code.

Deployment and Training

6

Launch day is one of the most important moments in the life of your project. Whether you are solving a business problem for your team or improving your customer's experience, proper deployment and (sometimes) training is a must.
We will guide you through the potential challenges of a launch to make sure your new product gets the reception it deserves.
For corporate app deployments, we will even attend corporate training seminars and events to makes sure your users are well versed in how to make the most of their new tool set.

Support and Maintenance

7

A good app or website can have a useful life long after launch, but it needs some care and feeding.
We offer a wide range of service levels to accommodate your needs. It is our goal that every app and website we launch into the world stays useful and relevant to your unique business need until the problem is solved, or it is time to think about version 2.

Project
Scope

1

There is no such thing as "one-size-fits-all" in branding.
Your company is unique. So is your brand. So are your customers.
Before we begin thinking about logos and letterhead, we explore your current market segment and brand space, look at your customer touchpoints and ask hard questions about what makes your brand unique.
From here, we look at the next steps that will help bring the transformative power of a cohesive, coherent brand to your business.

Current Brand
Analysis

2

To know where you are going, you have to know a bit about where you are.
During this phase we look at what equity you have in your current brand and determine what we can leverage and what we need to reinterpret.
Like the Scope, we take time to understand your market segment, your position in it, and what unique, own-able position your brand occupies in your customers' mind.
At the end of this phase, we will have a solid grasp on where your brand needs to go.

Sketches and Comps

3

Now it is time to put pen to paper. During this third phase of a project, all that analysis and evaluation gets turned into sketches, proposals, color palletes, wordmarks and product mockups.
There can be a lot of back-and-forth at this stage. Here is where we present comps, and eventually finalize the direction your brand will take moving forward.
At the end of this phase we will have a solid frame to build your brand around, as well as a few key assets in place to start building from.

Asset Development

4

This is the down-and-dirty part of the process. At this stage of the game, the core assets of your new brand will be extended into a whole range of customer touchpoints — everything from print to digital, apparel to trade-show marketing.
Building on the foundation laid in the previous phases, the colors, language, look and feel of your brand will now be extended and prepared for the next phase.

Launch and Deployment

5

You only get one shot at a brand roll-out, and we know a thing or two about that at Convey.
This phase is all about timing, making sure your new website looks as great as your new business cards. And this means no "coming soon" landing pages.
To ensure your new brand carries it's maximum impact into the marketplace, we will work with you to produce and deploy your new branded assets in a timely manner.

Maintenance and More

6

Your shiny new brand is out there in the world and everyone loves it! Great! Now what?
A brand is a living thing, and takes ongoing care and maintenance. Depending on the size and reach of your brand, there may be customer touch-points that may take time to update, or new products and offerings that will come online that will need to be brought into the fold.
Convey is here to help you down the road. We strive to be a part of your brand's continuity and effectiveness long after launch day.

Strategy for the Future

7

A cohesive brand will grow your business, and that means thinking ahead about how your business will change. Convey will be here to help your brand grow and change as your business flourishes.
This means everything from working with you to launch new customer touchpoints or helping you refine and hone your message as time goes on. We are here to help make sure your brand grows smoothly, while staying true to the core concepts that got you here in the first place.
